Divorce Mediation
Divorce mediation is a cooperative process that helps couples work through the issues involved in their separation or dissolution/divorce with the guidance of a neutral mediator. Instead of having a judge make decisions, mediation gives both parties the opportunity to discuss concerns, explore options, and create agreements that work best for their situation. Mediation can help reduce conflict, save time and money, and promote more positive communication during a difficult transition.

Benefits
Divorce mediation offers couples a respectful and cost-effective way to resolve issues without the stress of a lengthy court battle. It allows both parties to have a voice in the decision-making process, encourages healthier communication, and helps create customized agreements that meet the unique needs of their family. Mediation can save time, reduce conflict, and lay the foundation for a more positive future, especially when children are involved. If new concerns arise after the dissolution/divorce is finalized, former spouses can often return to mediation to address those issues collaboratively, avoiding the expense, time, and stress of going back to court.
The Process
The divorce mediation process begins with both parties meeting with a neutral mediator who helps guide productive conversations about important issues such as parenting, property division, finances, and support. Through a series of discussions, the mediator helps identify areas of agreement, explore solutions, and work through any disagreements. Once agreements are reached, the couple will receive a separation agreement, which can be submitted to the court either on their own or with the assistance of an attorney as part of the dissolution/divorce process.
